Speed is a research feature

Turnaround time is usually treated as a logistics detail. It is actually one of the most important features of research itself.

We tend to talk about research quality in terms of sample size, methodology and rigor. All of that matters. But there's a feature that quietly determines whether research gets used at all: speed.

Slow insight is often no insight

A brilliant finding delivered three months late competes with a decision that has already been made. The analysis might be flawless, but its influence is zero. In practice, slow research is frequently unused research.

Why traditional research is slow

The delay isn't intellectual — it's operational. Manual recruitment, manual fielding, manual analysis and manual reporting stack up into months. None of it makes the insight better; it just makes it later.

What automation actually buys you

When recruitment is dynamic and the pipeline is automated, results arrive in hours or days. That speed compounds:

  1. More questions get asked, because asking is cheap and fast.
  2. More decisions get tested, because you don't have to ration research.
  3. More of the organisation engages, because answers arrive while the question is still alive.

Fast and rigorous are not opposites

The old trade-off — fast or good — was a limitation of process, not a law of nature. With a large panel and automation, you can have a larger sample, more data, and a faster turnaround at once.

Speed isn't a nice-to-have bolted onto research. It's part of what makes research worth doing.
